# Deleting a published post
> Deleting a post in Ocoya deletes it on the network too — which networks allow it, which can't, and what happens when one refuses.
Deleting a post that has already published removes it from the networks it went to, as well as from Ocoya. You don't have to go and delete it again in each app.
This can't be undone. Once a network has deleted a post, Ocoya can't put it back — and neither can you, on most networks. Ocoya asks first and names the networks it's about to reach.
## How to delete one
Open the post from [Planner](/help/planner-views) and choose **Delete post**, or use the ⋯ menu on its row. Deleting a campaign deletes its posts the same way.

**Kick** needs the channel reconnected once. Deleting a chat message is a moderation action on Kick, so it needs a permission that posting doesn't — reconnect the channel in **Channels** and it's granted.
## When a network can't or won't
The post is **always deleted in Ocoya**, whatever a network says. A network being down, a permission missing, or a post somebody already removed by hand is never a reason to keep a post you asked to delete.
If a copy is left live anywhere, Ocoya tells you at the moment you delete:
> Deleted in Ocoya, still on the network
Those are the ones to go and remove yourself. Everything else is already gone.
A post that was already deleted on the network — by you, by a moderator, or by the network itself — counts as done. Ocoya doesn't report it as a failure.
## Posts you synced rather than published
A post imported into Ocoya from a network is only removed from Ocoya. The original stays where it is, because it was never Ocoya's to publish. The confirmation says so:
> Remove this synced post from Ocoya? The original post will stay on Instagram.
## Posts deleted before this existed
Anything you deleted in Ocoya before we shipped this is still on its network. Ocoya doesn't go back over old deletions — remove those in each app if you still need to.
