# Ocoya terms

> What Ocoya means by brands, channels, credits, slots and the rest.

A few Ocoya words don't mean quite what they mean elsewhere. These are the ones worth knowing.

## Brand

A business you post as — your company, or one client if you're an agency. A brand holds its own channels, posts, members, time zone and settings.

Everything in Ocoya belongs to a brand, which is why a channel connected in one brand is invisible from another. See [Brands and channels](/help/brands-and-channels).

## Channel

One connected social account — a single Facebook Page, one Instagram Business account, one LinkedIn profile. A Facebook Page and an Instagram account are **two** channels even though they connect together.

Channels count against your plan across all your brands. See [Why can't I connect another channel?](/help/channel-slots)

## Credit

What Ocoya's AI runs on. One credit per AI action: a generated caption, a generated image, an AI edit, a workflow run.

Scheduling, publishing, connecting channels and replying in the Inbox are all free. Credits belong to the brand **owner** and are shared across every brand they own, refilling monthly. See [What are credits?](/help/credits)

## Post vs article

A **post** is what goes to a social channel. On DEV.to it's an **article** — Markdown with a required title — which is why that channel behaves differently. See [DEV.to](/help/channels/devto).

## Posting slot

A weekly time a channel should suggest when you schedule. Slots **suggest**; they don't publish on their own. See [Posting slots](/help/posting-slots).

## Label vs hashtag library

Easy to confuse, opposite purposes:

| | |
| ------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Label** | Internal. Categorises a post inside Ocoya. Never published |
| **Hashtag library** | A reusable set of hashtags that **does** get published |

See [Labels](/help/labels) and [Hashtag libraries](/help/hashtag-libraries).

## Workflow

An automation: a trigger, then actions. A schedule comes round and a post goes out; a comment arrives and gets a reply.

Workflows need a paid plan and cost a credit per run. See [What workflows are](/help/what-are-workflows).

## AI agent

A reusable set of instructions a workflow uses to write. It holds a name, a prompt, a model and switches for image generation and web search. Created from inside a workflow's **Use AI agent** step. See [Triggers and actions](/help/workflow-steps).

## Campaign

A run of posts generated around one idea and spread over days, rather than a single post. Nothing is scheduled until you approve it. See [Generate an AI campaign](/help/ai-campaigns).

## Studio

Ocoya's design editor — templates, brand colours and logos, and the images you attach to posts. See [Studio](/help/studio).

## Post score

A number out of 100 rating a caption against eleven checks. Guidance, not a gate — you can publish a post scoring 12. See [Post score](/help/post-score).

## Needs attention

A post that published to some channels but not others. It isn't a failure and it isn't a success, and it must **not** be rescheduled whole — that would publish twice on the channels that worked. See [Why didn't my post publish?](/help/post-didnt-publish)
