# Schedule a post in a different time zone

> Override the brand's time zone for one post, without changing anything else.

Posts normally publish in the **brand's** time zone. When one post needs a different one, you can set it on that post alone.

## Set it

Open the schedule step on the post and use the **Time Zone** picker next to the date and time. It starts on the brand's time zone, and changing it applies to this post only.

The time you enter is then read in the zone you picked. Set 09:00 in *America/New\_York* and the post goes out at 9am New York time, whatever the brand is set to.

## When it's worth doing

**A launch tied to somebody else's clock.** A product going live at 9am Pacific, an embargo lifting at midnight UTC, a conference session starting in another country.

**One-off posts for another market**, when the brand mostly posts in its own time zone and you don't want to change the default for everything.

<Note>
  If *most* of a brand's posts belong in another zone, change the brand's time zone instead — it's less error-prone than remembering an override on every post. See [Time zones and scheduling](/help/time-zones).
</Note>

## What it doesn't change

* **The brand's time zone.** It stays as it was, and every other post follows it.
* **How the calendar reads.** Planner shows posts in the brand's time zone, so a post scheduled in another zone appears at its equivalent local time — which is correct, but can look wrong at a glance.
* **Anything already scheduled.**

## Daylight saving

Ocoya uses named zones such as *America/New\_York* rather than fixed offsets, so a clock change is handled for you — 9am stays 9am on both sides of it.

The exception is the hour a clock change skips or repeats. If you're scheduling into the early hours of a clock-change night, pick a time outside 01:00–03:00 in that zone.
