Your brand’s voice tells Ocoya how to write for you. It has two parts, both in Voice in Brand settings: a tone picked from a list, and free-text guidelines for everything else.
Select Brand in the sidebar, then Voice.
Tone of voice
Pick up to three. Selected tones turn dark, and once you have three, the rest are greyed out until you deselect one.
| Friendly | Professional | Playful | Warm | Bold |
| Witty | Inspiring | Calm | Expert | Casual |
Three is the limit on purpose. A few tones give the writing a clear voice. Every adjective at once gives it none.
Extra guidelines
Use Extra guidelines for anything else Ocoya should follow, such as words to avoid or how to sign off. It takes up to 2000 characters. Ocoya treats these rules as always applying.
Examples:
- Never use slang.
- Call our customers “members”.
- End emails with “Talk soon, the Acme team”.
- Don’t use exclamation marks.
- Write prices in euros.
Select Save when you’re done.
Where the voice is used
Ocoya adds your tone and guidelines to the instructions for:
- AI posts and captions: the AI post generator and the AI that edits or remixes a caption.
- The writing assistant, when it is set to use your brand.
- AI campaigns, including article campaigns.
- Workflow AI steps that use the brand.
- Inbox replies: Ocoya’s suggested reply to a customer and the team’s Copilot answers in notes follow your tone and guidelines.
- Emails: AI-written emails use your brand voice too. Sending emails from Ocoya is coming soon.
It does not change posts you write by hand, and it does not rewrite posts that already exist.
An AI tool connected to Ocoya or the REST API can read and set the tone and guidelines too, with the same limits: up to three tones from the list, and 2,000 characters of guidelines.
The voice is a strong hint, not a guarantee. If a result misses, say so in the prompt or add a clearer rule to Extra guidelines.
It counts toward your Brand score
Picking at least one tone earns 10 points. Guidelines are optional and score nothing. See Brand score.
