Kick has no post feed. The only thing an application can publish to a channel is a chat message, so a “Kick post” in Ocoya is a message in your channel’s chat — text, and nothing else. That makes it useful for going-live announcements, schedule changes and links, timed to land when your chat is actually watching.

Connect Kick

Open Channels

Select Channels in the left sidebar, then Connect channel.
2

Choose Kick

Pick Kick from the Add a connection panel — it’s listed under Streaming.
3

Authorize on Kick

Ocoya sends you to Kick to approve reading your account, reading your channel, and sending chat messages. All three are needed: without chat access the channel connects and then fails at publish.

What you can post

Chat carries no attachments. Attach media to a post going to Kick and it’s refused — put the link in the text instead.

Long messages become a thread

A Kick chat message is capped at 500 characters, and separately at 2,048 bytes — emoji and accented characters spend more than one byte each, so a message can hit the byte cap first. Write more than fits and Ocoya splits it into several messages, each a reply to the one before, so it reads as a single thread in chat rather than loose lines. The whole caption can run to 5,000 characters before the composer refuses it. Both limits are checked as you type, so a caption that would break at publish fails in the editor instead.

Kick’s limits

Common problems

“Kick posts require text or a link.” The post is empty. Media alone isn’t a chat message, and Kick won’t take it anyway. “Kick captions cannot exceed 5,000 characters including links.” Shorten it, or split it into more than one scheduled post. “This Kick account cannot post to the channel. Reconnect and approve sending chat messages.” The authorization went through without chat access. Reconnect and approve all three permissions. “This Kick channel is missing its broadcaster id. Please reconnect.” The connection is incomplete — it was stored before Ocoya could resolve the channel. Reconnect it. “Connection to your profile has expired. Please reconnect.” See Reconnect a channel.
