Before you start
You need a Wix site with the Wix Blog app added, and you need to be allowed to add apps to it. Wix asks you to add Ocoya’s app to the site while you connect. Ocoya can create, publish and delete blog posts, read your site’s members and blog categories, and add images to your site’s Media Manager. It cannot change your pages, design or settings.Connect Wix
1
Open Channels
Select Channels in the left sidebar, then Connect channel.
2
Choose Wix
Pick Wix from the Add a connection panel, under Blogging.
3
Add the app in Wix
Wix shows what Ocoya will be able to do. Choose the site, then Agree & Add. You have 10 minutes to finish.
4
Choose the author
Back in Ocoya, pick the Author: the site member every post is published as. Wix requires one for every blog post. You can also pick Categories to file every post under.
5
Save and connect
Choose Save and connect. The site’s blog is added as a channel.
How posts appear
If the text’s first line repeats the title, it’s left out of the body so the title isn’t shown twice. Links you added to the post that aren’t already in the text go at the end.
Text written in Markdown — headings, lists, quotes, bold, italic, links, code and images — arrives as Wix’s own formatting. Plain text keeps each line as a paragraph, and web addresses become clickable links. Wix keeps its own copy of every image in your site’s Media Manager.
Live or draft
Posts from the post editor are published on your blog the moment they post. In a workflow, the Publish to Wix Blog step lets you choose under On Wix:
This is separate from the step’s Save as draft switch, which keeps the post in your Ocoya planner without sending it to Wix at all.
A published post links to its page on your site.
What you can post
A post needs text or at least one image.
Wix’s limits
Deleting a post
Deleting a published post in Ocoya moves it to your blog’s trash in Wix, where it can be restored. Posts your team wrote in Wix are never touched.Wix in workflows
Wix works at both ends of a workflow. Publish to Wix Blog is an action. Choose the blog, a Title, the caption, and On Wix: Publish live or Keep as draft. New post published on a Wix blog is a trigger. Choose a Wix channel, and the workflow runs once for each post published on that blog. How the trigger behaves:- A published post runs within moments. Wix tells Ocoya as soon as a post is published. Ocoya also checks once a day, in case a notice went missing.
- Nothing before you switch the workflow on counts. Posts already on your blog are left alone.
- Each post runs once. Editing it later doesn’t post it again.
- Up to 10 posts run per check. Publish fifty at once and they’re worked through over the next checks, oldest first.
Leave a following Post to step’s caption or media empty and it uses
{{trigger.text}} and the cover image.
Disconnecting
Disconnecting a Wix channel in Ocoya stops Ocoya posting there. Posts it already published stay on your blog. To remove Ocoya from Wix entirely, remove the Ocoya app from your site’s dashboard in Wix. The Wix channel then shows Reconnect needed the next time it posts.Common problems
“Wix blog posts need a title.” Add a title under Wix options in the post editor, or fill in Title on the workflow step. “Wix needs an author for this blog’s posts.” No author was chosen when connecting. Connect Wix again and pick one. “This site has no members to write posts as.” Add yourself as a member of the site in Wix, then connect again. “This Wix site has no blog.” Add the Wix Blog app to the site in Wix, then connect again. “Wix no longer accepts this connection.” The Ocoya app was removed from the site. Reconnect — see Reconnect a channel. “Wix is rate limiting requests.” Wix asked Ocoya to slow down. The post can be retried in a minute. “Wix installation was cancelled.” You left Wix’s screen without adding the app. Connect again and choose Agree & Add.Related
